As to the above mentioned WMD, good choice! During my high school years (1976 grad - you too?) I had a strong interest in hunting - small game and deer, never got into fowl. However, I was only equipped with a hand me down .22 and a wooden recurve bow (compunds were just coming into being). Christmas of '74 or '75 I asked santa for a Remington 870. I didn't get it. I found out later that I was going to get it until an uncle advised my dad that it was more gun than I needed. :( I eventually lost interest in hunting with what I had and felt that anything else was beyond my means. To this day, I believe that good equipment would have established a life long love that would have benefited me both mentally and physically.
