DCForum had the superior threaded view that is unrivalled by other forum software - but it also isn't as clean, fast, and stable as Invision Power Board. It was an administrative nightmare to use.
The threaded view they have in 2.0 of IPB may be a start - I'll push for more once they have that going well. Having the "indented posts" that DCForum had would be very sweet, I agree.
