Normal Skeletons rock but only when maxxed

Let's see what you have there - a golem who is tough as nails and some moderately developed mages

How about maxxing mages and skeleton mastery?

The damage figures are here and are respectable:

Developing Raise Skeleton after that will give you a strong build in Hell
