Show Items to pick them up

I'm not sure if this command has been implemented yet, was a rumor, or has been a feature since the days of yore, but I'll ask anyhow: Is there a console command or shortcut switch that makes your character only pick up items when you have the 'alt' key held down (or whatever your show items key happens to be)? There was some talk about this feature a little while ago, and I was curious if it was implemented.
