Y'know, I used to play D2 a lot. Then they announced that the patch was coming out. I decided that I'd wean myself off playing D2 to better readjust to the patch when it came out. Baldur's Gate filled in the gap, and to be honest, I don't miss D2. Of course, in the time it took for Blizzard to actually come out with the patch, I bought and beat IWD, IWD2, and PS:T.
I hate to say it, but I think my Diablo days are over. I'm still collecting information for the DHP, and I still enjoy talking to all the friends I made, and will probably show up at reunions and things. But the community that kept me gaming is pretty much gone, much in the same way separated high school friends are no longer friends. The common circumstances that kept us together disappeared.
