What makes people heroes is that, when it counts, they dig deep and give something extraordinary of them selves to everyone else, or just to someone else, or to something else.
Some folks do not rise to the challenge, but I will accept your premise that within us all is the potential to do extraordinary things, to be heroic, even if by accident.
