His finest achievement, in my opinion?  Not the Silver Star, though his bravery is humbling, but his 63 years of marriage to one good woman.

While we are waxing sentimental, your comment reminded me of a song by Stan Rogers. I have loved this song for years - as a reminder that vows are meant to be kept as well as a testament to enduring love.
