This ONLY works if you are male:
Call up and say you can't come in because of "male problems". Then refuse to elaborate.

(The only problem with this, tho, is that, sometimes, after a pause, you get asked "Mail problems? Like receiving mail?"
You say "No, not mail, man, it's male as in manly male, man."
"You're having problems with a manly mailman??"
at which point you might as well quit your job.)
