That's more or less my point of view. Actually I dislike standard hardcore because its such a time investment in something ephemeral. I much prefer short and brutal roguelikes where dying and dying often is expected (and no scumming/farming), and it takes crazy skill and luck to have a chance at finishing. Hence the last tournament had an appeal, but I'd like something closer to ironman. Encouraging my cowardice by allowing zone farming would take all the fun out of it for me.
With the PTR going up now though I wonder if we're going to see the RoS features relatively soon, like say january, well ahead of the xpack release. If someone has a bead on that it would be good to clarify as the patch completely revamps how difficulty levels work (not to mention loot and skill balances...)
