Although I guess something strange to note, is that I have and seem to be allowed saves where # is a number in the range 0..10.
Not that I'm complaining of course. I'll take an extra save where I can get it!
That is strange, but do you actually have access to 11 char slots while in the actual game?
Personally I hate the 10 char slot limits, but yes that is quite strange.
IIRC slot #0 should be char 1, if say you're just testing it out.
I did a quick test (PC, under Win Vista. D1 in SP and MP, though it shouldn't make a difference IIRC) and I can only get 10 chars. Hitting the 'New Char' after creating 10 chars gives me the 'Unable to create char' message.
Just eliminating the obvious here, it's not just a naming thing in your file folder is it? Because if you do have an actual extra slot, again that is quite curious.
'This one goes to 11...'
Edited addition:
Thinking out loud here, is it possible that multi_10 was a char file you created before, exported out of the D1 save folder, then re-imported back in to the save file folder?
Just guessing from the older date of multi_10 vs the other files.
