In secular Holland a small Christian party became an important partner in a coalition a few years ago and directly they started bargaining (and partly succeeding) for changing many of our liberal laws. The only difference is that most of the 'major' Christian countries are first world western, and so the average joe has too much to loose (socioeconomically) to go on flag burning tours.
The reason these Muslim countries are now making so much trouble instead of trying to create a better society is that they are influenced by lobbies from the gulf states, and that we, because we like oil so much, don't want to leave those same gulf states alone.
