Couple of additional questions here...
So are you allowing for the possibility of a given person getting the same class more than once (e.g. monk, monk, monk), albeit with different skills/runes?

Nope. Can't get the same class (I take it out of the roll equation).

I didn't see any specific mention (may have just missed it), but are you rolling passive skills for us as well?

I'll throw you a bone and allow players to chose the passives. I'll update the original post.

I'm likely to be extremely casual about this, and see it as a good opportunity to mess around with some other classes.

This is exactly what I've taken away from other tournaments. You're trying out builds/skills that you normally wouldn't and it can be a lot of fun (and challenging!).
