The Red Shirt Phenomenon

I believe that understanding this is critical to the survival of our species; namely, stop wearing red shirts.

Ah, but looking at the data it appears that early on in the mission the yellow shirts died more frequently. It is obvious the crew came to an early conclusion that Yellow shirts are at great risk, and then switched to Red shirts. So, the only conclusion I can see is that the crew needs to work harder to insure that Kirk meets a new lady friend on every mission.
