for soothing, pleasant to listen to background music, you simply cannot beat that for 'Order' from Lords of Magic.
On more than one occassion, I've booted up the game cd, let it be while the soundtrack played (volume cranked WAY up btw. Great sound card and speakers make for a wonderful thing :D ) and then proceeded to meander about the house doing daily chores.
