I have an AMD dual core system on an SLI motherboard with dual GPUs enabled. All WOW video parameters and sliders are always set to max, only the annoying "glow" effect is unchecked.
Before 2.1, I was accustomed to 100 - 120 FPS while riding birds and viewing other non-populated scenes. This dropped to 40 - 60 FPS during intense instance fights.
These frame rates dropped 30% - 40% after 2.1, and were intermittently worse in 2.2. I updated the NVIDIA drivers recently to no effect.
When I logged in to 2.3 I maxed all the video parameters, including spell effects (for which the default is "Low"). 120 FPS / 60 FPS numbers are back, although I don't know yet if they are higher than before. The spell effects are very pretty.
