Purposefully avoiding spoilers:
A caveat for newcomers: everyone must turn in the quest to the objective NPC at once and accept the next quest, before anyone talks to the objective NPC to start things up. This is not like a normal escort where accepting the quest gives other people the opportunity to share the quest.
You also do not need to stay too close to the objective NPC, as well, and if the objective NPC dies along the way, the objective NPC will respawn at the last point at which you talked to it. You get three respawns, and then it's over.
