"Kill the men, take the loot, and ravish the women, lads, and fer the luv of the Jolly Roger, men, Get It Right this time!"
== Long John Silver, the day he lost his leg == For what it's worth, 19 September is the Day of San Genarro, the Patron Saint of the City of Naples, Italy. On this day, in the Duomo (cathedral) in downtown Napoli, the high officials check to see if his blood, which has been preserved in a flask since the 1500's or so, liquefies or not. If it does, good luck, if not, bad luck for the city. I like this Talk Like a Pirate Day better, thanks Ghostiger: it's off for a measure of grog from Captain Bolty, and then to climb the rigging in search of booty! Aaarrrrrgghh! "Fifteen men on a dead man's chest, yo ho ho . . ." EDIT: Shiver me timbers, I took the Pirate Personality Test! (With 8 questions and some obvoius, not to mention funny, answers, it was a cinch) Quote:You are The Cap'n!

While I'm sure they're enjoying the attention and the T-Shirt sales these days, I don't think it was created with the intention of promoting shirts.
The guys who created this thing are from my hometown, fwiw. So, the day gets plenty of attention in the local papers (especially since the Chumbucket guy writes for one). At school today, there were a couple of kids with eyepatches and stuff, although "arrr" was about all they could say. Oh, and my pirate name is Mad Bess Flint. ;) Quote:Every pirate is a little bit crazy. You, though, are more than just a little bit. Like the rock flint, you're hard and sharp. But, also like flint, you're easily chipped, and sparky. Arr! -Griselda
Why can't we all just get along
