Sites being lost to Geocities - GhastMaster - 05-08-2009

Since Geocities will be closing down later this year, it occured to me, we will be losing a few diablo fansites. Most of them are merely nostalgic. Are any of these mirrored somewhere?

Haven't sailed these waters in a long time, or here for that matter! Nice to see there is still a bit of action goin' on!

I guess the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine has them in storage.

Geocities... another Web 2.0 casualty!

Cheers!

I will try soon to wget what I can; this may be made difficult by geocities bandwidth restrictions, but I'll try. I don't currently have any webspace on which to mirror the sites, but I'll figure something out. It'd be a shame to lose these fansites.

I don't think the Wayback machine will save everything. I could be wrong.

I'm definitely running into bandwidth problems. Sorry, it seems I have killed Darkman's and Moriah's for the time being. But this should be doable within a few days.

I'll keep on it. Geocities' bandwidth limit, IIRC, is hourly.

Any luck archiving the sites?
I can help if web space and bandwidth is a problem.
Are there programs that can download entire web sites that would work with geocity's limit (resume where it gets kicked)?
