I think that might be an epic mount. It says in the text that Taurens get plainsrunning instead of mounts. Then again, they may just be unclear, or wrong.

This is likely due the recurring problems that they have had with getting plainsrunning working in a fair manner compared to the mounts of all the other races.

Maybe now some of these tauren will stop killing the kodo matriarchs and bulls and calves that are running around the grasslands. It's awfully sad to see a Tauren killing a kodo beast when we're supposed to have at least some reverence/respect for them.

Also there were at least 2 quests requiring the killing of the kodos when I was leveling up Chaku when I started him. In both cases there is a text explanation of why your character should be doing this at times. The kodos may be an important part of the life of the Tauren, but it more like the buffalo to the plains tribes in North America rather than the relationship of the cow to the Hindu faith.
