The Sleeper Has Awakened - Zarathustra - 12-30-2004
On the quest "The Sleeper Has Awakened" on Dark Shore, the NPC will often disappear immediately after you've received the quest. He's on a timer to appear for short periods of time, and apparently the timer doesn't get stopped when you begin.
Only way to fix the problem is to Abandon, wait for him to come back, and try again.

Blizzard really needs to fix a variety of problems involving vanishing NPCs. One day, the NPC who gives dwarves and gnomes the first quest just disappeared for five-ish minutes. The only logical explanation is...rogues are everywhere in Azeroth! Fear for your lives!

Hmm, I've done this quest or helped with it 3 times....no disappearing...
