WoW: Info Sources - Nordramor - 01-31-2005

So, where's everyone get their hard WoW info from? The official forums are a bit of a quagmire with the rare useful post often being drowned out by the multitude of nerf/whine/random posts. Any sites other than the LL that have useful info/forums?

And on side note, it's good to see this site is running. This was the best Diablo 2 site for a long, long time. How's the WoW prescence?

... and is there anyway to default to 'show all posts' in a thread? I prefer to see all posts at once, as opposed to having a summary list at the bottom.

[edit]

Nevermind, I have answered the 3rd question. Found the Outline/Standard/Linear buttons.

I go to thottbot.com, and under News -> Thottbot, it has Blizzard posts in the official forums. So it's like going straight to the source without having to go through the junk.

Thanks for the site links guys, I've been using thottbot myself. IGNVault however does have a great talent tool.

Pinning this topic until such time as I can figure out how to make a page like this linked off the main page. A page like this has been on my to-do list for a while. Maybe this week, it'll happen. In the meantime, keep posting sites and/or pages you know and use. I'll link them on the upcoming Community Site when it comes about.

WoW: Info Sources - Xanthix - 02-10-2005

Thanks MongoJerry for pinning this. Now I can access my fav's from any computer. :)

I found another site for Warcraft Maps: Videogamemaps has added a WoW section. They have incredibly big and detailed maps of instances, including descriptions of the layout, the mobs, the bosses, and relevant quests. So far they have Gnomeregan, Deadmines, Stockades, Blackfathom Deeps, and Gadgetzan, and they seem to be adding more.

Linkage: http://www.videogamemaps.net/?maps/pc/wow

Also, andorion.com, the other great map site, seems to have been down for some time. Not sure why or if this is permanent.

A newer site that came up while Thottbot's blue post tracker wasn't working:

WoW Blue Tracker

It lists the most recent blue posts in multiple forums (not including ones that involved locked threads).

It's accurate within 30 minutes according to the creator. So far, it's the one thing I use to keep up on blue posts. It's incredibly useful for finding responses from the CMs.

Sites I go to:

www.thottbot.com

wow.allakhazam.com

The official forums of my server (Proudmoore) have people linking to topics of interest from time to time. The forums of some of the raiding guilds on my server also have people linking to topics of interest and some gameplay discussion.

Unpinning this topic, since many of the links are broken and hopefully the topic has been superceded by the new Community link on the Lurker Lounge home page.
