Dynamic view distance mod. - Zippyy - 05-28-2005 I'm a bit of a graphics lover, and I've run into a problem. I recently finished building my new pc (had to RMA the ram). I have all settings at the max except for AF. Whenever I am indoors, in an instance, or in any enclosed space, I get 75 FPS (my refresh rate and thus the max) pretty much constantly. However, when I go outside it's a different story. Running around in the wilderness, even with long distances and mountain ranges visible, I get around 40-50 FPS. That part is fine. But when I am in a town, my framerate plummets. In Brill (of all places!) I get 15-20 FPS, which is not acceptable to me. In STV, where there was some minor pvp taking place (8 people or so), my FPS was 8. Does anyone know of a mod that can dynamically reduce your view distance based on current framerate? That way I could maintain decent framerates in town (when how far I can see isn't important). My specs are: Athlon 64 3500+ 1g corsair dual channel XMS ram ATI X800 Pro I would have expected this gear to be able to handle everything in WoW without hiccuping. |
