Patch 1.9.1 - WimpySmurf - 01-10-2006

What more do I need to say?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- World of Warcraft Client Patch 1.9.1 (2006-01-10)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

General
- Various disconnection issues have been fixed.

Druid
- Heart of the Wild - Previously, when shifting to Bear Form or Dire
Bear Form, this talent would cause your current health to increase by
the same amount as your max health. Now it will cause your percentage
of max health to be the same before and after the shift, as well as
shifting back to humanoid form. As a result, shifting in and out of
these forms will no longer cause an increase in current health.
- Druids with the Symbol of Unending Energy will now be properly
awarded 30 energy if their finishing move is dodged, parried, blocked,
or missed.
- Feral Charge – Should no longer desync characters from the server
when charging from land to water.

Paladin
- Silence effects should now work properly with Improved Concentration
Aura.

Priest
- Mind Control - Now functions properly. Previously, the person who
was charmed did not appear to be moving on their screen or any other
local clients.

Warrior
- Charge – Should no longer desync characters from the server when
charging from land to water.

Items
- Elixir of Poison Resistance now removes up to 4 poison effects up to
level 60. The immunity effect has been removed.
- The Winter Veil Disguise Kit now has a short casting time and can
only be used when not in combat.

Quests & Reputation
- Chapter 2 of the Twilight Lexicon for the quest "The Twilight Lexicon"
should again drop from the appropriate NPC.
- The "Field Duty" quest for Alliance should now work properly.

User Interface
- Using the search feature "Usable Items" no longer causes all pages on
the auction house after the first to appear blank.
- Various errors occurring during use of the default user interface
have been fixed.
- The /split command has been disabled.

Patch 1.9.1 - Zarathustra - 01-10-2006

Bah. Were the potion pots that big a deal? If anything, they gave Alliance a better shot at Lord Skwol.

Still not sure what the /spit removal was about.

Patch 1.9.1 - Sheep - 01-10-2006

Was /spit or /split removed?

Patch 1.9.1 - Zarathustra - 01-10-2006

Gah, gotta check the reading comprehension. What does /split do?

I was reading that as Blizzard removing /spit in order to remove another avenue to offend others.

Patch 1.9.1 - Kevin - 01-10-2006

I'll leave every one of the ones that I've personally had a problem with, or seen abused, in the quote and put my hooray at the end. :)

Splits a set amount of gold between your party members. Apparently it was being used in a gold-duping bug involving crossing instance portals while executing the command.

And damn poison immunity was so useful, going to be sad to see that go.

Patch 1.9.1 - Xanthix - 01-10-2006

For further info, "/split GG SS CC" would split the specified amount of gold, silver, and copper among all partymates, similar to how cash is split when looted from mobs.

In addition to any possible use in gold duping, it was used as a griefing tool. For example you're in a pickup group and you say "Hey, type /split 100!" and those people unfamiliar with the command would do it, giving you their gold.

/split was also the source of an amusing but short-lived bug in an AddOn. The author mistook it for another command, so when you used this AddOn it would give your gold away to people. Fortunately he released a hotfix immediately.

I was having that problem all of last night with the party I was in. Not good when you are trying to heal a group and very unsure of how correct any of the life values or actual postions of the other party members.

Patch 1.9.1 - Zarathustra - 01-11-2006

I often wonder about some of the changes made. For some reason they saw it worth someone's time and effort to go in and change the icons of the curses cast in the Molten Core. The descriptions and actual effects of the curses stayed the same, but the icons were all swapped around. It's not an error, either, because they still "make sense" for what they're being used on; haven't seen Shazzrah's curse changed into a bunny iron or anything.

There finally was a post that said they didn't catch this due to a different type of QA they used in order to get this patch out as quick as possible. They're working on a fix for it.

Hopefully they'll use the original type of QA on it, rather than this "different" type, which I propose be renamed "crap" or "non-existent". Honestly, how do you _not_ catch something like that?

Patch 1.9.1 - Trien - 01-12-2006

The stuttering looks almost like client-side movement prediction isn't happening, as if all we're seeing are the other players in the positions as sent by the server, instead of showing the extrapolated movement. It doesn't seem to always be consistent either, I'll see some players stuttering and others seemingly moving smoothly.

At least, that's what it feels like to me...

Patch 1.9.1 - Watto44 - 01-12-2006

Quote:--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- World of Warcraft Client Patch 1.9.2 (2006-01-11)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

General
- Characters should no longer appear to "pop" around terrain.  Movement
  should be smoother once again.

Hope it works. :)
