I put in my vote for Option #4 on the official forums, which was to make magic find on gear zero out for 3 minutes after an item swap -- with the caveat that magic find's strength is increased to compensate for the change. I don't think gear swapping is cheating, but I do think it is awkward and breaks the immersion and rhythm of the game. MF gear should be a valid option, but you should have to fight in it to get your reward.
