I recently picked up D1 again.
This time with a rogue which I didnt play before.
I started a single play game and after killing the Skeleton King got the undead crown as usual.
I figured this might be useful to wear but it doesnt seem to work with my bow using the rogue.
i.e. I cant see any life increase in my orb (or on character stat screen) when i attack monsters with my bow.
Is there some restriction on this item where it doesn't steal life for attacks with bow? :blink:
I picked up a warhammer (5-9 dmg; 26-30 after I equipped) and a small shield from Griswold.
I had no problem stealing 1-2 point of life per hit with those.
I had read Jarulf's guide for D1 + hellfire specifically about the undead crown (0-12.5% life steal I think)
and it never mentiones bows being excluded.
Does anyone know more about how this item behaves?

Be it life leech or mana leech, it will not work with a bow. It is solely for melee weapons. :)
