Gambling is like voting for politicians. If you believe that you are dealing with honest people, then  .

**Falls out of chair with a stroke**

**Chuckles some more**

That is the funniest thing I have read all night, doubly so because it is true. Thanks! :w00t:

It all comes down to perception.

There has been a show running here at 5:30 pm (UK) about house selling. Typical (Paraphrased) statements below:
"pale shades make a room appear larger"
"the challenge here is for her (the owner) to get the buyer to the far side (of the room, where you can see out to trees, rather than the opposite side that looks out onto rooftops)"
"If you live by a motorway, make sure the windows are closed before a showing"
"(Explaining to a seller after a practice run) You aren't moving away 'to find a larger place', you are moving for a job opportunity"

There are much larger stakes for the average person in selling a house than in a game of poker, but the same thing applies:

Everyone is playing by 'the rules', but they may not be playing by *your* rules.

Thoreau said it first, though from a different tack. To him, voting was a form of gambling. The rest of the stuff he was writing within the work that cites this belief is not exactly an archaic document beyond our times, too.
