Fight For Your Right to Party - Sabra - 12-30-2004 Tal,Dec 30 2004, 05:42 AM Wrote:I love the shot of Shalandrax there. :D She is really ready to rock in that shot, isn't she. Tal, thank you for saying that the Lurkers would put up with my Mom-checks. You were all very good about that and it was much appreciated. Tankin' with style indeed, my dear. Big axe, GG! I had no idea. What a great find. You were wonderful, btw. Treesh, you really motivated me! I have a Warrior that I've been playing a lot, but I really only created him to preserve a name. I think I'll rest him and make a priest. I want to see what it's like to do what you were doing last night. Very impressive. As for Bun-Bun, he was just incredible. What presence of mind. That was the most fun I've ever had without laughing! BUT, I have a little problem. I cannot find Wilder Thistlenettle to turn in my two mining related quests. These quests were shared with me by Tal, so I've never met the man before. Can anyone give me a clue as to what district he's in? I've kept pretty detailed lists of the folk in SW, but he's not among them and I ran from 6AM to 6:45 looking for him. Hint???? First building on the right when you enter the dwarf district is an Inn. You'll find him in there. =) Fight For Your Right to Party - Sabra - 12-30-2004 Tal,Dec 30 2004, 01:23 PM Wrote:First building on the right when you enter the dwarf district is an Inn. I want to see what it's like to do what you were doing last night. Very impressive.Priests are quite fun and very rewarding to play, if you like helping people and being a support character (and I do :) ). Read this thread (even the link that I gave in there helps some despite it being all for the laughs), this thread, this thread, and this thread. Those threads helped quite a bit. Knowing that my priest was never going to have to worry about soloing and probably wasn't going to be doing much in the way of PvP (especially not solo PvP), I've spec'd her pretty much for straight healing, with some points in the discipline tree. It was definitely interesting trying to keep 5 people alive instead of just two or three, but since you and Bun-Bun didn't draw much aggro, it wasn't that different. :) I'm just glad I didn't have to worry about you two too much, except in a couple of spots. Edit: And thanks for the compliment on my play. I knew I was good enough to keep GG alive through a lot of bad times, but I wanted to see just how I would do in a larger group. Edit2: Gah. Blizzard cleaned up their forums a bit and now the guide on how to party with a priest is gone. That's a shame. I laughed a lot at it. I should have snagged a copy of it before it disappeared. Ah well. Edit3: (I'm getting worse than Occhi here. Sheesh. ;) ) I don't remember if I ever saw this in any of the threads I linked up above or not, but as a healer you may have to worry about keeping pets alive as well, especially if you're in a group where the hunter's pet is the main tank. You can select the pet itself by hitting the F2-F5 key (depending on what "slot" the hunter is in) twice or by hitting shift+F2-5. Oftentimes though, I don't actually select the target I'm healing and since the pet's life doesn't show up under the hunter's portrait, there's another trick that's not always known by those new to the game - the V key (default key setting for show nameplates). If you press that key while in a fight and have "show Pet nameplate" clicked under interface options, you will see bars hovering over the enemies and over the friendly pets. Enemy bars are red, pet bars are green. You can heal the pet by clicking your heal key and then clicking on the pet's bar. You won't lose your hostile target this way and you can keep the pet alive too. A lot of priests won't bother to heal pets (even the ones that are acting as main tank) simply because they think it's too difficult to keep track on the pet's health. The V key is your friend when you're traveling with pets. Don't be afraid to use it. It makes life simpler. :) Fight For Your Right to Party - WarLocke - 12-30-2004 Treesh,Dec 30 2004, 10:51 AM Wrote:I don't remember if I ever saw this in any of the threads I linked up above or not, but as a healer you may have to worry about keeping pets alive as well, especially if you're in a group where the hunter's pet is the main tank. Showing pet bars in the group window really needs to at least be an option. It's not as if I'd let a player die to keep a pet up, but in the heat of battle it can be hard to target a pet for a heal even if I've noticed that it was hurt. Fight For Your Right to Party - Treesh - 12-30-2004 WarLocke,Dec 30 2004, 10:21 AM Wrote:Showing pet bars in the group window really needs to at least be an option. I'm hoping Blizzard will take the hint and actually implement the suggestion, but until they do, V is a good workaround. Fight For Your Right to Party - Sabra - 01-04-2005 I have confessed to being a big fan of screenies ... so Behold the glory that is Tal Fight For Your Right to Party - Tal - 01-04-2005 Sabra,Jan 3 2005, 09:08 PM Wrote:I have confessed to being a big fan of screenies ... so Behold the glory that is Tal hahahaha I like it but I think the picture above is better. :) Fight For Your Right to Party - Treesh - 01-04-2005 Well, Etheramwen and Taranna are now ready to kill VanCleef as well, and probably should do it very, very soon since they are level 22. Etheramwen is a rogue and Taranna is a druid. Anyone else who wants to tag along is quite welcome to. We'll be doing this within the next couple of days. Oh, Treesh, if I can get it into my goofy midweek schedule (I'm playing doubles in a racquetball league on Tuesday and Thursday nights, so I have someone counting on me) I'd love to do that quest again. Could you do with a level 21 Mage with a powerful backhand and a rather effective lob serve? I like to fight! ****************************************************** Tal, I agree that "Talk to the Hand" is the real deal, but there's something about Shalandrax's stance, the light around her, especially coming form her left hand. It's art, Baby! In that shot, she is a goddess. Fight For Your Right to Party - Roane - 01-05-2005 Zaira, my mage, is 18 now and would love to go on a VC run. I'm available Wednesday night, if there's room. Fight For Your Right to Party - Sabra - 01-05-2005 I would absolutely love to do it tonight, Treesh, but, as Roane's mage hasn't done VC yet, I will back off in favor of him/her, till you see how the party forms up. What you really could use is a Warrior right now, so I'll not take up a spot till you know what you're getting. I'll be monitoring this thread today and you have my email. Otherwise I'll be on tonight at Sabra after 7:30 PM Eastern and can take the bird to Westfall at the drop of a hat. (Note the the Short Squad. Yael will train in tailoring. Seems like the best bet. Agreed?) Fight For Your Right to Party - Treesh - 01-05-2005 Roane,Jan 5 2005, 12:43 AM Wrote:Zaira, my mage, is 18 now and would love to go on a VC run. Although I'm not as good in a group with a rogue as I am a priest, so this will be a test for me. :) At least I know a little bit better what to expect this time. So far we've got 4 (Tal mentioned running it with us too so we'll have our warrior) with Sabra being a possible 5th if there's no one else who needs to do it. So we are really going to test the healing powers of my druid. :) I must warn that I've never run in a group as the primary (in this case only) healer. At least I'm healing speced with the druid right now. And being 22 means I'm a bit bigger than I need to be for the instance. We just have to try to not have anyone die as the druids res is on a 30 minute timer. :) Fight For Your Right to Party - Tal - 01-05-2005 Gnollguy,Jan 5 2005, 10:56 AM Wrote:So we are really going to test the healing powers of my druid. :) I must warn that I've never run in a group as the primary (in this case only) healer. I've completed the quest already so as long as I die as VC dies the rest of the group will be okay. ;) Fight For Your Right to Party - Sabra - 01-05-2005 So ... what time are we starting and where are we meeting? :) Of course, if another healer wants in to take some of the strain off GG & his 30 minute heal timer, I'll bow out again. Really excited about this! Fight For Your Right to Party - Tal - 01-05-2005 Sabra,Jan 5 2005, 01:54 PM Wrote:So ... what time are we starting and where are we meeting? :) Meh. I don't think we necessarily need another healer. We have three means of crowd control and at this level a rogue can help with tanking if necessary. I'm hoping that my connection is back to normal - otherwise we might need to move slower through the instance. Tal might be slightly late, depending upon how soon the child will go to sleep or at least pretend to be sleeping. ;) We'll meet at Sentinel Hill, probably by the tower itself. |
