"Rare throwing weapons insanity"

I just created a single player barb with an editor (just for testing purposes, i swear), because i was planning on creating a warcry, battleorders, berserk, throwing barb. As you can imagine, i had a lot of doubts about how it would work, and that's why i created an edited one and put him directly in act1 hell.

As i imagined, most of his combat skills (stun, berserk, etc..) only affected the meele damage of the throwing weapon. So you only gained damage bonus from throwing mastery in double throw, wich makes the mastery not so good to max, except for the critical strike %. If you wanted to gain damage from masteries and get it applied to i.e. berserk, you had to pump the appropiate mastery (axe, spear, whatever throwing class you wear).

So, what's the problem you ask?. This was expected after all. Well, i loaded the char with money and gambled a lot of javeling, throwing knives, pilums and the such, and eventually a rare javelin pop up. My surprise was when, when selecting double throw (or even single throw) the damage was not modified What is worse, not even the enhanced damage of the rare where showing, but the base damage of the weapon!!! To put it clear, the javelin does 6-75 (+60 to maximun damage based on char level, level 80) and my throwin damage is 21-52 (modified by dex i put on the char).

Even worse, the enhanced damage (i think) applies in melee. So my conclusion is this: I think rare (and only rare) throwing weapons enhanced damage is not applying in throwing skills but in melee damage skills (havenīt tested in amazons).

Right now i have a bunch of numbers in my head and i donīt know if someone will be able to even understand something out of my crappy english, but i wanted to know if someone has witmessed something similar or can verify if i'm right or plain crazy.

bYe...

All the problems with incorrect damage have one thing in common: +max damage based off charecter level (so far throwing weapons and a unique axe I believe).

Also, I've heard that ranged weapons aren't benefiting from charms, and possibly from +min/max on the bow either.

+% damage should still work fine though

You do get the damage bonuses for everything -- it just doesn't show up on the Character screen. This threw me when I started my throwing barb too. Try it with some charms, and you'll see the elemental and poison damage taking effect, but it never shows on the Character screen. From my testing, the only thing that is broken is the display; actual damage appears to be fine.
